:: Boardwalk ::

Last week we took the kids to the Boardwalk for the first time. It was a perfect summer evening and the last .75 cent night of the year. With most schools back in session, it was quite empty and very enjoyable. We didn't have to wait in any lines and there was plenty of room to run around.We visited the carousel first and while she thought it was very pretty to watch, she felt a bit differently about actually having to ride on it. This was as close to riding as she got before she asked Markus to get her off...We decided to head over to the kiddie rides and see if she would be interested in any of those...To ease her into the rides, I accompanied her on what she now calls 'the Sea Dragon cars'. She LOVED this ride and wanted to go again and again. Since last week, she keeps asking if she can give her ticket to the 'dragon lady'. Markus went on a truck ride with her...After that she decided that she was old enough and big enough to go on the other rides by herself.She patiently waited to give the ride operator her ticket...She rode in what she called a 'tank', a 'school bus' (which was really a dune buggy), and the boats. She was very serious about her steering!Every time she came around in the 'school bus' (dune buggy) she waved and yelled, "Look, I am going to SCHOOOOL!"She had such a blast and has not stopped asking if we can go back - every single day! Mr. J was there too enjoying the sights, sounds, and colors with us!
