:: Rough Start ::

This is Analise on a normal day...beautiful and at times, serious:

Analise can also be very silly. She is her own favorite person:

Today is a different day.

Analise came down with her first cold. It has been a bit of a rough week for her. She has been to the doctor four times in the last week due to an infection she has on her left breast, and now a cold...which could be from her flu shot. She has not been sleeping well lately at all, and we knew last night was going to be rough. We had a fantastic Thanksgiving with Jessica's family, however when we got home, Analise didn't want her 'before bedtime bottle', which is waaaaay out of the norm for her. We put her down at 7:30, and within the hour she was awake and crying because she couldn't breathe out of her nose, and didn't quite know how to deal with that. We tried putting her back down a few times, but she immediately rolled to her stomach and likes her face buried...well that only speeds up the nose stuffing process.

In need of some serious sleep, the solution was to keep her head elevated so she could breathe. How you ask? Well, I 'slept' on the couch sitting up holding her all night. She loved it and slept better last night than she has in weeks. I on the other hand could use some sleep. As I type this, I am sitting on the couch with Analise sleeping on me. She has been asleep for an hour and a half, which is a long nap for her. Fighting a cold and an infection is tiring work!

Bummer. I bet she got it from Sammy - SOOOO sorry about that! I've also heard you can keep her head elevated by sticking something under the mattress. We'll pray for a speedy recovery.

Yay! Another blog to get addicted to. :)
Glad you started one.

I'm so sorry to hear about your sweet baby. She IS beautiful, this is for sure. I hope she gets well soon. The bad colds are the worst... no one sleeps at night when the baby can't breathe well. :(
Sending get well wishes!
