:: Lakeside to Mountain Top ::

When we first arrived in Austria we stayed with Markus' parents in the beautiful village of St. Georgen. His brother Stefan flew in from the Canary Islands -- we all had a great week together. Analise had some special time with her Oma Heidi. At least once per day they took a walk to the bakery to get fresh rolls, or went to the market to pick something up.

Each morning she had a super special breakfast, - something she had never eaten before - fresh rolls with chocolate spread! She thoroughly enjoyed it. We spent a lot of time relaxing in their beautiful home, playing in the yard, taking walks around the village, and sitting late into the evening on the porch.
Their home is just minutes from Attersee (a beautiful, large lake), so the kids and I, along with Oma Heidi took an 8 minute train ride down to the water and met up with Opa Heinz, Uncle Stefan and Markus. We watched the ferry come in...
We fed the ducks...

Jameson ate his first ice cream cone...
We had such a great time! Take a look at the mountain in the back of this picture...
The one thing that Markus wanted to do while we were staying with his parents was to climb up a mountain with his dad and brother as they hadn't done it since they were much younger. They had a great time together with spectacular views all around.
Most of the mountain peaks have crosses on the top.
When you need a little 'pick-me-up', it is completely normal to come across ice cold, fresh spring water straight from the Alps while climbing in Austria! The lake below is Attersee, the same lake from the previous pictures...
The reward at the top of the mountain...a traditional Austrian lunch!
Stefan relaxing for a few minutes at the top...Heinz taking a snooze...
Upper Austria is such a beautiful place!
Needless to say, the men had a fantastic day!

Wow. Beautiful. I'm definitely adding Austria to my list of "places I want to go before I die." Have you ever considered moving there? :)

Also - Jameson just had his first ice cream cone! Amazing. I'm sheepishly going to admit that my 18-month-old had her first one months ago! ;)
